Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern,
Rob Ferry, M.A., NCC holds a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College.
Rob is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a professional paramedic with 15 years of experience in both the fire department and emergency room settings. Rob's background propelled him into mental health counseling as he witnessed firsthand the effects of high-pressure work environments, specifically among first responders and healthcare professionals. Rob works from a dialectical behavior therapy foundation (DBT) and is trained to work from a DBT framework. He is a solution focused therapist who is also comfortable working in a classic talk therapist role as he and the client explore reasons for current distress and confusion.
Rob can work with clients aged 8-65 with depression, anxiety, stress, adjustment issues, phase of life issues, post-traumatic stress (aka PTSD), borderline personality disorder, grief, substance abuse, and unexcepted medical issues (i.e. cancer diagnosis and other life changing illness).
Rob’s work experience includes firefighter/paramedic roles in Central Florida fire departments and emergency rooms, work in substance abuse inpatient centers, work with LGBTQ populations performing rapid HIV testing and counseling (state certified), work with grieving children, counseling work with terminally ill cancer patients, and behavioral work with autistic children ages 5-17.
Rob enjoys spending time with his family, listening to all varieties of music, spending time in nature, and watching movies.
Rob is accepting new clients and works Tuesday from 11am-8pm
