Laura is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor and National Certified Counselor who holds a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Rollins College. Laura specializes in treating young adults and children dealing with family changes, life transitions, anxiety, anger, self doubt, and navigating early adulthood.
As a Professional School Counselor for many years, Laura understands what you and your child are facing in the school environment - from the increasing demands in the classroom to the social expectations from peers. Laura specializes in helping children manage challenges affecting performance in school, such as ADHD, test anxiety, or perfectionism. She works with parents and children struggling with difficult behaviors, such as showing defiance, disrespect and dishonesty. Laura will support your child in coping with changes in the family, such as divorce or death. She can help your child develop a greater sense of self-worth and the ability to effectively communicate with family members and peers.
Laura is trained in EMDR, Psychological First Aid, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Incredible Years Parenting Program.
