Joe Salg: Director,

Certified Sex Therapist,

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Qualified Supervisor

 

Joe S. Salg, M.A., LMHC, NCC holds a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College (#1 University in the South per U.S. News and World Report, 2008-2016). He is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor with many years of clinical experience in treating children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. Licensure was obtained in 1999 and has been maintained since.

His long-term commitment and dedication to the LGBTQ population has set him (and CDCC) apart as one of the main resources for Orlando's 'family' as well as ALL TYPES of families.  Joe is also a member of The Center.

Joe has been in private practice (within Central Florida) for the past 24 years and started the Corrine Drive Counseling Center in 2005. He now works predominantly with ages 18-70 helping with:

- Sexual dysfunction in individuals and/or couples

- Breakdowns re: all types of intimacy

- Couples issues (communication skills, conflict resolution, negotiation)

- betrayal/trust events

- Sex addiction/pornography addiction

- Gay individuals and couples

- Transgender individuals during all points in transition

- Mood disorders (depression, anxiety, bipolar)

- Stress management and assertiveness training

- Self-esteem issues and sexual orientation/acceptance

- Alternative lifestyles/kink/poly/monogamish/open

He does not participate in faith-based therapy. 

Sex Therapy certification was received in 2015 through the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes

Joe has completed Level 1 Training at the Gottman Institute (research-based couples therapy) and works with ALL TYPES of couples.

He is also a Qualified Supervisor who can provide supervision (individual or group) to pre-licensed interns.  

Prior work experience includes Orange County Public Schools (guidance counselor), Intervention Services (home and school based counseling), Seminole County Juvenile Justice (suicide assessment), Seminole Community Mental Health Center (community-based counseling), The Center (pro-bono counseling), B.E.T.A. (group counseling) and Threshold (behavior analysis).   

Joe is usually accepting new clients and works Tuesday - Friday from 11am - 8pm and Saturdays from 11am - 6pm to accommodate the after-five working individual/family.

PRIVATE PAY

The standard counseling fee is $135.00 per individual session and $150.00 for couples and families. Joe accepts cash, credit/debit cards (including American Express) and Paypal, Cash App, Venmo... as well as Health Savings cards/Flexible Spending cards.

INSURANCES ACCEPTED:

Joe no longer partners with insurance companies. However he can give you a Superbill which clients can use to negotiate with insurance companies for partial/total reimbursement.
