Amee is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor & National Certified Counselor and holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Central Florida.  Amee has training and experience treating childhood trauma, abuse, parenting issues, communciation skills, relationship problems, divorce, low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, life transitions and grief.

 

Amee specializes in working with individuals who struggle with relationship problems, feelings of being overwhelmed, career, family matters, feelings of shame and unworthiness, anxiety/stress, depression and life transitions.  Amee works with couples with regard to communication issues, time management and relationship break-downs.  She has received training in Gottman Level 1, which is a researched based approach in couples counseling.    Additionally, she is an approved premarital counseling provider for Orange County and provides a premarital counseling package which focuses on relationship foundation, communication, family of origin and future marriage goals.  

 

Amee utilizes numerous approaches when doing therapy in order to meet each client's needs.  She believes that the relationship between the counselor and the client is very important and feels that real change can begin in an environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves.  That is why Amee aims to create a safe environment where clients feel validated and understood.
